Explosion injures SHO, three policemen in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 16, IRNA -- Four policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were injured Thursday when a remote-controlled bomb struck their police mobile van in north western Shangla district, police said.

According to the police, Bisham police station’s mobile van was patrolling the area when a loud remote-controlled explosion occurred as it reached Chakesar. Subsequently, four policemen, including SHO Sher Hussain Khan, sustained injuries.

Police sources said the bomb was detonated through a remote control.

The injured persons were immediately shifted to a local hospital. Their condition was reported as out of danger.

Police personnel cordoned off the area and a search operation went underway to apprehend those responsible. No group has yet claimed responsibility of the attack.

Meanwhile a security official was killed and another injured in a blast in Pakistan’s north western tribal region. According to reports the bomb was planted in the vehicle of Khasadar force patrolling in Landi Kotal area of Khyber tribal region.

After the incident the Police cordoned off the area and started a search operation to apprehend those responsible.
