Chabahar, IRNA – According to an Iranian provincial official, an Iranian fishing vessel, in coordination with the Chabahar Maritime Search and Rescue Center, has rescued a foreign national in the Indian Ocean.

Ahmad Hashemi, an official at Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime office, told IRNA on Sunday that the owner of the fishing boat reported finding a foreign citizen from Indonesia. The individual had been floating for two days with a life jacket in the Indian Ocean before being taken out of the water by the fishing boat.

He added that the Indonesian national would be returned to his country following the completion of the legal process.
