New York, IRNA - The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has censured the Zionist regime for its aggression against Iran, declaring the recent attack on the Islamic Republic a serious violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement on Monday night, the NAM consisting of 121 countries, strongly condemned the recently Israeli strikes on Iran that caused the loss of lives of four Iranian military personnel and one civilian.

The NAM also strongly condemns the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq, whose airspace was illegally used by the Israeli regime to commit this aggression against Iran, the statement said.

While expressing deep solidarity with the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the bloc reiterated that by launching the attack, the regime violated the fundamental principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, especially Article 2, Paragraph 4, which explicitly prohibits the use of force against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country.

The NAM members, while holding Israel accountable for its aggression and consequences, calls it the inherent right of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other affected countries to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

The bloc also urged the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibility by clearly condemning the Israeli act of aggression and taking the necessary measures to prevent its repetition.

The Non-Aligned Movement has once again expressed its deep concern over the lack of accountability for all the violations committed by Israel against the people of Palestine and Lebanon and other nations in the region, it said, adding that the regime be held accountable for its blatant disregard for the UN Security Council, the International Court of Justice and other international obligations.

The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement condemns in the strongest possible terms the deliberate act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran by Israel which constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and resulted in the loss of lives of four Iranian military forces and a civilian.

The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement also strongly condemns the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Iraq which its airspace was unlawfully used by Israel to commit this aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

While expressing deep solidarity with the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and offering them condolences as well as the family and loved ones of the victims of the attack, the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement reiterates that Israel has committed this attack, in a violation of the foundational principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which strictly prohibits the use of force against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any state.

In this regard, the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement, while holding Israel accountable for this aggression and its consequences which threatens regional and international peace and security, affirms the inherent right of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other affected countries, under international law and the UN Charter, to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and people. NAM-CoB also calls on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibility by clearly condemning this act of aggression and taking the necessary measures to prevent its recurrence.

The Coordinating Bureau of the Non-aligned Movement, once again, reiterates grave concern regarding the lack of accountability for all violations committed by Israel against the people of Palestine and Lebanon as well as other nations in the region, and reemphasizes that Israel must comply with international law and must be held accountable for its blatant contempt of the UN Security Council, ICJ, and other international legal obligations.
