Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian and other Iranian officials have expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Seyyed Hashem Saffiedine, who was the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council.

President Pezeshkian issued a message on Wednesday hours after Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement confirmed the martyrdom of Hashem Saffiedine in an Israeli attack in capital Beirut.

He said that Saffiedine spent his whole life to courageously defend the innocent people of Palestine and Lebanon, and to strengthen the resistance front.

Although the martyrdom of Saffiedine is a great loss for the axis of resistance and the Lebanese nation, it will open a new chapter in the struggle against the Zionist occupiers, the Iranian president noted.

Pezeshkian also referred to Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in late September. He said that despite Nasrallah’s martyrdom, Hezbollah has remained strong and is powerfully pursuing its goals, dealing heavy blows to the regime.

In a message of condolence, Vice-president Mohammad Reza Aref praised Saffiedine as a symbol of courage and resilience against tyranny.

Aref said that the martyrdom of the senior Hezbollah official is a great loss, but it will make more fighters join the resistance front, who will continue his path.

Mohammad Mokhber, advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, also issued a message of condolence, saying that the martyrdom of Saffiedine is a great loss, but will strengthen the resistance front.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said in a message that Martyr Saffiedine was a symbol of unity, defending Islam and supporting Palestine and Lebanon, who sacrificed his life for his ideals.

Qalibaf said that the Israeli regime is brutally killing defenseless people in Lebanon and Gaza to cover up its defeats.

Top Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami, in a message of condolence, said that the martyrdom of Saffiedine will strengthen the Islamic world’s unity over the Palestinian issue, and will guarantee the end of the fake Zionist regime’s occupation and criminality.

Expressing condolences over the martyrdom of Saffiedine, Iran’s Expediency Council chairman Sadeq Amoli Larijani said that the resistance front has proven that assassination and the elimination of its leaders do not cause any disruption in the will and faith of its combatants.

Larijani stated that Martyr Saffiedine’s role, alongside Martyr Nasrallah, in supporting the resilient nations of Lebanon and Palestine in building and strengthening the resistance front against the Zionist occupation regime over the years is unforgettable.

Iran’s Interior Minister Eskander Momeni also offered his condolences and stated that Saffiedine’s martyrdom strengthened the resolve of the resistance to combat Zionist terrorists more vigorously.

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Mohammad Bagheri offered his condolences, describing his martyrdom as another proof of the defeat of the criminal Zionist army in the field of confrontation with the Mujahedeen for the liberation of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

He stated that undoubtedly, the medieval actions of the American-supported Israeli regime in the region will not help the continuation of the disgraceful existence of the Zionist occupiers in the holy land of Palestine, adding that despite the support of the evil front, the path of the humiliating death of the Zionist regime is occurring more rapidly than before in light of the strong will of the great Islamic resistance organization.

Top Commander of the Iranian army Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi extended his condolences as well, stating that the pure blood of the innocent people and martyrs in the fight against oppression has inspired warriors and followers of the resistance front’s school of thought.

“They will continue to pursue the path of truth and promote global awareness in condemning the unprecedented crimes committed by criminal leaders”, he added.

Also, Iran’s Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir, in a message of condolence, said that following the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Martyr Saffiedine offered a significant hope for the resistance movement in Lebanon, emphasizing that Saffiedine’s martyrdom would ultimately lead to the downfall of the Zionist occupiers.

Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations issued a statement, expressing its condolences for the martyrdom of Saffiedine. The statement emphasized that other leaders will continue the path of the martyred ones, asserting that liberation movements will remain undeterred by the loss of their leaders.

Iran’s Minister of Defense Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh also issued a message on this martyrdom, noting that the assassination of the resistance leaders will not be able to destroy the resistance, but will give a further boost to the fight against oppression.
