Hassan Zamanian, who also heads the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, made the remarks in a meeting in Astrakhan on Wednesday with Deputy Chairman of the Astrakhan government Denis Afanasyev.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed wide grounds for cooperation, including cooperation on technology parks.
The Iranian official also paid a visit to Astrakhan State Technical University.
