Bushehr, IRNA - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami says the country's nuclear power plants are 100% secure due to a "powerful defense and security system" guarding the facilities.

"With a powerful security system in place, the security of the country's nuclear power plants and centers is now 100% established, and there is no concern in this regard," Eslami told reporters in the southern city of Bushehr on Monday.

He vowed that Iran's Armed Forces will counter any attack on the country's nuclear facilities.

The comment comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions between Iran and the Israeli regime following an unprecedented missile and drone strike by the Iranian armed forces against Israeli military and intelligence targets deep inside the occupied territories earlier this month.
