Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi left Tehran for Islamabad early on Monday on an official visit to the southeastern neighboring country.

Raisi’s Islamabad visit is taking place at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari.

During his two-day trip, the president will be accompanied by a high-ranking economic-political delegation including some cabinet members.

He is also scheduled to meet with his counterpart and with the host country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

President Raisi will visit several Pakistani cities to meet with a number of Ulema, elites and business persons there.

A visit to Lahore, the cultural heart of Pakistan, is also among the president’s plans.
