Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Embassy in London has reiterated that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) played an important role in the fight against “terrorist threats and extremist groups” including Daesh (ISIS).

The embassy made the remarks in a statement published by the Middle East Eye (MEE) on Friday.

The embassy described the accusations against the IRGC as “lack of substantiation” and “driven by political agenda.”

Further, it condemned the “malicious” attempts in the UK to ban the IRGC.

It added the pro-Israeli groups in Britain are trying to ban Iran’s military organizations to damage Tehran-London ties.

The UK-Israel parliamentary group have signed a letter calling on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to proscribe the IRGC is a terrorist organization.

Iranian embassy in the UK told the MEE that the call has made by some individuals and groups who are after destroying bilateral relations between the two countries.
