Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Vice President Mohammad Mokhber has underlined that the Islamic Republic is not seeking escalation, but if the Israeli regime makes another mistake, Iran will give a severe response.

The Iranian official made the remarks in a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Syria Hussein Arnous on Thursday amid Israeli threats to strike Iran in response to the weekend attack by the Islamic Republic against the regime’s military targets to punish it for an April 1 airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Mokhber said that the attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission indicated the desperation of the sinister regime in the face of the Palestinian resistance and other resistance groups.

“We are not seeking tensions, but we will give a severe response if the Zionist regime makes another mistake”, the VP said.

The Syrian premier lauded Iran’s retaliatory operation as a crushing response to the regime, saying that the courageous act questioned and challenged the existence of the Zionist regime, its credibility as well as its supporters.

Arnous also said that the Syrian army is in full readiness to support the resistance front and give a crushing response to possible acts of aggression by the Zionist regime.
