Tehran, IRNA- The leaders of some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, have held telephone talks to review and assess the regional developments.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a telephone conversation assessed some of the regional issues, IRNA cited the Saudi state news agency.

The two leaders emphasized the need to work toward the stability and security of the region and prevent the spread of tensions and danger of a war, the report said.

Separately, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with bin Salman to discuss the regional and international situation, especially the situation in Gaza.

Sheikh Tamim and bin Salman also emphasized the need to reduce tension and prevent the spread of war in the region, according to a statement from the Qatari Emir’s office.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE are key members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council as well as the Arab League.
