Tehran, IRNA — Over three metric tons (mt) of narcotics have been seized in the capital city, the police commander of Tehran province Second Brigadier General Abbas-Ali Mohammadian says.

As much as 3,148 kilograms of narcotics have been seized in Tehran, Mohammadian told reporters on Tuesday in an exhibition on police achievements in the Iranian capital.

The commander went on to say that the haul includes one mt of meth.   

The seizure of narcotics increased by 20% in Tehran last year (March 21, 2023 – March 19, 2024), the military official added.
