Tehran, IRNA – Advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati held a telephone conversation with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh following Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s successful attack on Israel.

During a phone conversation on Sunday, Velayati praised the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime during the past six months, which he described as unparalleled in the country's contemporary history, noting that this period demonstrated that the Palestinians are not alone and Muslims, as well as freedom-seekers worldwide, stand with the oppressed Palestinian people.

Referring to the unique actions carried out by Palestinians in the current war with the Zionist regime, he underlined that resistance has entered a new phase which is unprecedented in contemporary history, and collapsing the regime that has martyred many oppressed people of Gaza and Palestine during this period, is imminent.

Furthermore, Velayati condemned the Israeli terrorist attacks on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, stating that the courageous action taken by the IRGC, dubbed 'Operation Truthful Promise', against the occupying entity last night was a brave one and it caused disgrace to Western countries and supporters of the occupying Zionist regime.

Velayati emphasized that after World War I and II, Western countries and supporters of the Zionist regime attempted to make the regime a regional power, but the IRGC's current decisive and crushing defensive response broke out the fake strength of the Zionist regime.

Haniyeh, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its constructive positions and support for Palestinians, noting that the recent crimes committed by the Israeli regime show that they have not achieved any of their stated goals and the enemy's plot will never be implemented.
