Tehran, IRNA – A member of the Iranian parliament’s Economic Commission says the country is currently enjoying the highest level of interactions with its neighbors thanks to the measures taken by the government.

In an interview with IRNA's parliamentary reporter on Thursday, Ali Rezaei said that strengthening relations with neighboring countries had been a top priority of the government of President Ebrahim Raisi since the beginning, which he said, brought positive results for Iran.

The president personally took the initiative to enhance interactions with neighboring countries and was able to use this capacity well, he said, adding that Iran’s interactions and communications with its neighbors during the previous administrations were either interrupted or were at their lowest ebb.

Rezaei called Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS group of emerging economies as the other achievements of the government under President Raisi.

Rezaei concluded that he considers the government's foreign policy agenda as acceptable, saying, “We are witnessing an increase in relations at the highest level.”
