Tehran, IRNA – Around 60,000 Palestinians gathered at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied al-Quds city on Wednesday to hold Eid al-Fitr prayers that mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Palestinians attended the prayers at Al-Aqsa from across the occupied territories amid tight security by the Zionist regime’s forces.

Some Palestinians were forced to hold their prayers outside the mosque as Israeli forces prevented them from entering the holy site.

This year’s Eid al-Fitr prayers were held in Al-Aqsa, which is the third holiest site in Islam, amid the Israeli regime’s ongoing war on Gaza.

The war has killed at least 33,360 people and injured nearly 76,000 others in the besieged Palestinian territory since it was started on October 7. Most of the casualties are women and children.
