Tehran, IRNA – Protesters have gathered outside the Israeli ministry of war in Tel Aviv in yet another show of anger at the cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu over its handling of the Gaza war and its failure to release captives held in the besieged Palestinian territory.

The protesters held their demonstration on Sunday, renewing calls for the release of all the captives including Israelis held by Palestinian Hamas Resistance Movement, Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

The media outlet also reported a similar demonstration outside the UN headquarters in New York City, where members of the US Congress and Jewish organizations as well as families of the captives were in attendance.

Hamas took dozens of people, including Israelis and foreign nationals, when it launched its Al Aqsa Storm Operation against the southern Israeli-occupied territories on October 7.

Later that day, the Israeli regime waged its ongoing devastating war on Gaza under the stated goal of freeing the captives.

Hamas released a number of them in the last week of December as a part of a temporary truce deal.

The resistance movement has also announced its readiness to release the rest of the captives in exchange for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the withdrawal of the Israeli military from the enclave, as part of conditions set during the ongoing truce talks mediated by Qatar and Egypt.

The Netanyahu cabinet however has so far refused to accept the conditions, drawing anger from the public, with critics accusing him of continuing the war to serve his political purposes.

Israeli protesters have held numerous rallies against Netanyahu ever since the Gaza war broke out.
