Zahedan, IRNA – The death toll from the recent terrorist attacks in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan has risen to 15.

At least seven of those killed are Baluch and Sunni people.

The attacks took place in the cities of Chabahar and Rask late on Wednesday.

The Jaish al-Adl terrorist group conducted the coordinated attacks targeting five public places, military bases, and security control centers in the two cities, taking a number of civilian people hostage.

The hostages were later released and the situation came under control following an anti-terror operation by the security forces in Sistan and Baluchestan.

According to the office of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps’ Ground Forces in the province, 18 terrorists were eliminated in that operation.

The Jaish al-Adl terror group has in the past months carried out similar attacks in Iran. In January, the group attacked a police station in Rask, killing a policeman. And a month earlier, it killed 11 police officers in the same city.
