Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian people have donated some $3,327,391 to assist the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip, according to an official.

Vahid Salimi, head of the Organization of Volunteers of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), announced on Saturday that the amount of money will be spent to purchase foodstuff and medicines for the oppressed people of Gaza.

Salimi noted that the Iranian people have donated money, foodstuff, and medicines on two separate occasions since the onset of the Israeli regime's genocidal war on Gaza in early October.

He added that the IRCS, with the assistance of the Iranian people, has delivered around 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, the IRCS has cooperated with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to pave the way for sending humanitarian aid from Iran and other freedom-seeking nations to Gaza, he said, adding that the IRCS has also held several webinars aimed at helping Gazans.
