The top Lebanese diplomat made the comment in a phone talk with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian on Wednesday.
Bou Habib also extended his condolences and expressed the sympathy of the Lebanese people and government over the Monday attack that martyred seven Iranian military advisors.
Amirabdollahian thanked Lebanon for its stance over the Israeli regime’s attack, saying that the crime will not go unanswered.
He also said that the US should be held accountable over “this aggressive and terrorist act” by the Israeli regime due to its all-out support of the regime’s crimes.
Malta denounces Iran embassy attack
Iran’s FM also spoke with his Maltese counterpart Ian Borg on the phone on Wednesday, discussing the Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
Amirabdollahian said that the attack left 6 Syrian nationals and 7 Iranian military advisors dead, adding that the strike was a blatant violation of international law.
He expressed gratitude over an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council (UNSC) held on the Israeli attack on Tuesday night, and said that the Islamic Republic expects the UNSC to issue a resolution in condemnation of the Israeli regime attack.
The Maltese foreign minister, whose country currently holds the UNSC presidency, condemned the Israeli attack which he said violated international and humanitarian laws.
