Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has emphasized that development and consolidation of cooperation will surely benefit Ashgabat and Tehran.

"During my trip to Ashgabat, I had meeting and talks with Serdar Berdimuhamedow, the President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, and Rashid Moradov, foreign minister of Turkmenistan,"  Amirabdollahian wrote on his X account on Friday.

Following up on the agreements of the heads of the two countries and reviewing the process of mutual cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy, transit, fight against terrorism and consular affairs and developments in Afghanistan, Ukraine and Gaza were on the agenda, he added.

Amirbdollahian, who had visited Turkmenistan to consult with the high officials of Turkmenistan, left Ashgabat for Tehran on Thursday night.

One of the goals of Amirabdollahian's intensive trip was to prepare the preparations for President Raisi's upcoming trip to Turkmenistan.
