Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s chargé d'affaires in Britain has toured the studios of Sky News in London to speak with senior managers and staff of the television network.

Mehdi Hosseini Matin said on his page on the X platform on Tuesday that he had discussed the current situation in the Middle East with senior staff of the Sky News, including with its famous presenter Yalda Hakim.

“I was hosted by senior managers&correspondents including Yalda Hakim, senior news presenter of Sky News. We had extensive &fruitful discussions about developments in the ME &the world,” said Hosseini Matin.

Sky News is a popular channel in Britain and its coverage of news is closely followed by viewers around the world.

The channel is a main rival of the publicly-funded British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) where news and analyses are mostly aligned with the narrative of the British government.

Yalda Hakim, an Australian broadcast journalist of Afghan origin, left the BBC in July 2023 to join Sky News.
