- Worldwide protests call for Gaza cease-fire
Hundreds of thousands of protesters took to the streets on Saturday in several major cities around the world to show solidarity with Palestinians and call for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. In Britain’s capital, London, tens of thousands of protesters marched in central city to call for a cease-fire in Gaza. The march, from Hyde Park Corner to the US Embassy, was the 10th pro-Palestinian march in central London since Israel started its onslaught on Gaza following the October 7 attacks by the Hamas resistance group.
- Hezbollah targets Israeli positions with rockets, drones
The Hezbollah resistance movement launched rocket and drone attacks on positions in the Israeli-occupied territories in retaliation for a deadly attack by the regime’s military on southern Lebanon carried out early on Sunday. In a statement released on Sunday, Hezbollah said that its fighters had targeted the Meron settlement in the occupied territories with Katyusha rockets, Press TV reported. The group said it also launched a drone attack on Israeli artillery launchers in the Arar barracks and fired rockets at a gathering of the regime’s soldiers east of the Birkat Risha outpost.
- Historic $20b deal signed for SP gas pressure-boosting project
The signing of the country’s largest gas deal in the country’s history, valued at $20 billion, for the gas pressure boosting of the South Pars (SP) Gas Field took place in Tehran with the presence of the Iranian minister of oil. On Sunday, in the ceremony for signing the implementation contracts of the South Pars project with Iranian contractors, Javad Owji said, “Most of the country’s gas reserves are located in South Pars, and the feedstock for refineries, petrochemicals, and even the country’s gasoline production relies on South Pars.”

- Biden struggles to shake off “Dictator, Genocide Joe” epithet
As Israel presses ahead with its brutal onslaught on the Gaza Strip more Palestinians are losing their lives not only in the regime’s strikes but also due to hunger. According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, the death toll from Israel’s assault on Gaza, which began on October 7, has surpassed 31,000. The ministry says over 70% of the victims are women and children. Apart from deadly strikes, more people in Gaza are starving to death amid warnings over a looming famine in the territory.
- Iran proposes six practical proposals for Gaza
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has proposed six practical proposals for resolving issues in the Gaza Strip during an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The list of proposals is as follows:
1. Expelling Israeli regime from UNGA and preventing its membership in other international bodies. 2. Promptly halting genocide and war crimes in Gaza, withdrawal of Israeli army from the Strip and provision of immediate humanitarian aid to the enclave. 3. Providing temporary accommodation for the homeless. 4. Setting up hospitals, medical centers and equipping them across Gaza. 5. Transferring the injured, especially children and women, outside Palestine for medical treatment. 6. Reopening Rafah border crossing, with joint cooperation of UN chief and Egyptian government.
- Raisi sends congratulatory message to new Pakistan president
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has sent a congratulatory message to Asif Ali Zardari on his election as the new President of Pakistan and expressed hope that relations between the two countries, which have historical, cultural and religious history, will be further developed and deepened during his presidency. On Sunday, Raisi stated that “Iran, as always and especially in the new era, is ready to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”

- Revealed: Gaza ‘Testing Ground’ for US robots
The Pentagon is using the besieged Gaza Strip which is under an all-out Israeli invasion for five months now as a testing ground for its autonomous weapons, commonly known as “killer robots”, US think tank Public Citizen has revealed. Autonomous weapons “inherently dehumanize the people targeted and make it easier to tolerate widespread killing,” which is in violation of international human rights law, it said.
- One year on, Saudi-Iran rapprochement bears fruit
Iran and Saudi Arabia have benefitted from a year of resumed diplomatic ties that have allowed them to contain their security risks despite the dangerous regional fallout of Israel’s war in Gaza, analysts say. On March 10, 2023, following negotiations facilitated by China, the regional foes agreed to re-establish their embassies and exchange ambassadors, concluding a diplomatic standoff that lasted for seven years, triggered by attacks on Saudi diplomatic premises in Iran.
