The Chilean defense ministry announced in a statement that it will not host the Israeli firms in its Air Show, to be held in Santiago in April.
“By decision of the Government of Chile, the 2024 version of the International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), to be held between 9 and 14 April, will not have the participation of Israeli companies,” read the statement.
Chile has not elaborated on the decision, which has been made under the leftist Chilean President Gabriel Boric, who strongly opposes the Zionist regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.
The Latin American country, which hosts the largest Palestinian population abroad, recalled its ambassador to Tel Aviv late October to protest the Israeli regime's “unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law” in Gaza.
In January, Mexico and Chile called on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to investigate the possible occurrence of war crimes in Gaza.
According to the latest report released by the Gaza health ministry on March 5, 30,631 Palestinians, mostly children and women, have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7, when the regime waged its war on the besieged territory.
