Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Mohammad Mehdi Sajjadi stated that recent heavy rainfall caused floods in several counties and villages within the province. To address the situation, 289 teams have been dispatched to the flood-affected areas. Their tasks include assessing damages, providing relief, and offering temporary shelters to affected individuals.
Earlier on Saturday, Mohammad Hassan Nami, the head of Iran’s national crisis management organization, reported that 16 counties and 1,947 villages in Sistan-Baluchestan have been hit by floods in the past few days. These towns and villages experienced inundated waters due to heavy rains since February 28.
In a related development, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami held a telephone conversation with provincial officials and stressed the importance of delivering timely services to the affected areas.
