Tehran, IRNA – Ebrahim Raisi, the current Iranian president, has been re-elected for the 6th term of Assembly of Experts by winning 82.5% of votes in South Khorasan province in east of the country.

Such a percentage of votes is registered as a record, IRNA reported on Saturday.

With 275,464 votes from the total of 333,629, Raisi was re-elected for the Assembly of Experts for the third term.

Elections for the 12th term of the Majlis (the Iranian Parliament) and the 6th term of the Assembly of Experts were held across Iran on March 1.
