Tehran, IRNA – A group of Israeli regime's soldiers in the elite Givati Brigade have refused to take part in military operations in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli media.

Israeli media outlets reported on Thursday that nine Israeli soldiers in the elite Givati Brigade have been expelled from the Gaza Strip due to defying orders.

After the announcement, the families of the nine soldiers said that they were tired of fighting in Gaza and had requested a meeting with mental health care officials.

Since the Israeli army began its ground invasion in Gaza at the end of October 2023, the Givati Brigade, which includes elite fighters, has participated in the most difficult battles in the enclave and lost many of its leaders and members.

Palestinian Resistance groups have repeatedly defeated Givati and other elite forces in Gaza, pushing them to withdraw from certain areas.

Ronen Bergman, a senior political and military analyst for the Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot, wrote on social media platform X on Wednesday that the regime’s army have sunk into the quagmire of Gaza, describing the defeat of the Palestinian resistance in military operation as unattainable.

He added that the captives are tired and the settlers are subject to fake and distorted news stories, and the strategy of military pressure for the release of the captives has not been successful.
