In a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Tehran Rudra Gaurav Shresth on Tuesday, Naderi condemned the toxic and misleading propaganda by Western media against independent nations.
He stressed that media outlets affiliated with the “global arrogance” have employed all tricks to tarnish the image of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Naderi said that IRNA considers it its duty to confront the hostile foreign media in the battlefield of news dissemination, and called for increased cooperation between regional media outlets to combat the onslaught.
Naderi, who also serves as the rotating president of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), expressed IRNA's readiness to expand news cooperation with Indian media given the longstanding cultural relations between the two countries.
The Indian ambassador, in turn, acknowledged the media warfare launched by the West against the Islamic Republic.
He stressed that the realities of Iran are vastly different from what Western media portray.
