Tehran, IRNA -- Iraqi journalist Muhammad Al-Sheikh has said that resistance media have a significant role in presenting the world the true image of crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.

Al-Sheikh made the comment in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 24th edition of the Iran Media Expo underway in Tehran.

He said that the resistance media, despite a propaganda campaign by Western media outlets, contributed to efforts to show the true image of the Zionist regime's crimes to the world.

He noted that Palestinians, through the October 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, managed to awaken people across the world, even those living in countries whose governments are allies of the Israeli regime.

We witnessed in the US and the UK that hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets and chanted slogans against the Zionist regime and in support of the Palestinians, he added.

Palestinian expert: Media play pivotal role in countering fake Israeli narratives

Also on the sidelines of the Iran Media Expo, Palestinian political expert Amer Khalil told IRNA that media outlets play an important role in confronting the occupying Zionist regime as they are the main source of disclosing its crimes at the time when Israel is trying to cover up its crimes in the Gaza Strip by publishing false narratives.

Since the beginning of the Zionist regime's atrocities on October 7, international organizations and countries, in general, have shown more solidarity with the Palestinian issue, he said, noting that this is the result of the activities of Palestinian media, especially the resistance media in showing the true image of the events.
