Tehran, IRNA – Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas says the administration of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists on continuing their aggression on various cities in the Gaza Strip, especially against the city of Rafah, to forcibly displace the local population.

Abbas made the remarks during a Sunday meeting with the leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization to examine the situation of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The forced displacement of the Palestinians “will not be accepted by us or by anyone in the world,” he said.

The Palestinian president also pointed out that the meeting aimed at preventing any actions that would lead to the forced displacement of the enclave’s population from their land, particularly since the situation in Rafah has become so dangerous and difficult that it requires prompt action by the Palestinian leadership.

“We will continue to fulfill our responsibilities towards our people in Gaza as we have always done,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu insisted that a ground offensive in Rafah in southern Gaza will go ahead, despite warnings over the devastating impact on the forcibly displaced Palestinians sheltering there.

“Whoever tells us not to operate in Rafah, is telling us to lose the war,” said Netanyahu.

The Zionist regime’s deadly war on Gaza has so far killed at least 28,985 Palestinians and wounded 68,883 since October 7.
