The agreement was reached on the sidelines of the 18th meeting of Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, which was held on February 14, according to a report by Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development on Sunday.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Deputy Iranian Minister of Roads Kheirollah Khademi held talks with Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure on cooperation between the two countries.
The development of transport corridors between the two countries, the construction of tunnels as well as export of engineering and technical services were among the issues discussed by the two officials.
They also discussed the construction of a vehicular bridge at the joint Norduz border crossing, and agreed to launch feasibility studies within a month after the signing of the memorandum of understating of the 18th meeting of Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.
The bridge would serve as a main step in completion of the strategically significant International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC) project.
