Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s gas transmission network is stable after sabotage acts targeted natural gas pipelines in two provinces in the center and south of the country, says the dispatching director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

Saeed Aghili said on Wednesday morning that the fire caused by the blasts at the pipelines has been contained and that the repair work has already begun.

“We hope the pipeline will be repaired and will become operational as soon as possible,” he said.

Aghili explained that at around 1 a.m. local time on Wednesday, two “acts of sabotage” hit the natural gas pipeline in Boroujen city of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province as well as Safashahr city in Fars province.

“Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the explosions,” he said.
