Tehran, IRNA – An American military base located in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zour province has come under fresh missile attacks amid growing anti-American sentiment in the region.

News sources, including Russia's Sputnik reported on Tuesday night about the missile attack on the base located in the al-Omar oil field.

According to the reports, a total five rockets were fired at the base.

There was no immediate report of casualties or damage from the attack which was third in the last three days.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for these attacks on American forces that have maintained their illegal presence in the Arab country.

Since the beginning of the Zionist regime's invasion of Gaza, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq has carried out dozens of attacks on American military bases and facilities in Iraq and Syria.

Several other US military bases in Syria namely Ain al-Asad, Harir, Kharab Al-Jeer and Koniko have also come under repeated attacks in recent months.

Resistance groups in Iraq and elsewhere are outraged at the US military presence in the region, which they say is a source of instability, as well as Washington’s support for the Israeli regime in its ongoing war on Gaza.
