Zahedan, IRNA – Border police authorities in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, say they have arrested some 2,285 illegal migrants seeking to penetrate into Iran from the two countries.

Colonel Alireza Fazli, a deputy commander of Sistan and Baluchestan’s border guard force, said that the new group of illegal migrants had been arrested over the 72 hours to mid-day Monday.

Fazli said the migrants were trying to escape back into Pakistan and Afghanistan when they were arrested by the Iranian border guards.
