Tehran, IRNA – A Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier has been targeted by missiles while transitioning through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, British maritime security firm Ambrey said Monday.

Ambrey said the carrier was targeted in two incidents within two minutes and suffered damage to its starboard side, Reuters reported.

The maritime security firm said earlier that the incident occurred 40 nautical miles southwest of Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Mokha.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency said the crew were unharmed, and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call.

The government in Sana’a , which is run by the Ansarullah resistance movement, declared its support for Palestine since the Israeli regime launched the deadly war on Gaza on October 7.

Yemen has vowed to continue its retaliatory measures in the Red Sea until the Israeli regime ends ground and aerial offensives against Gaza that have killed nearly 28,000 people in the besieged territory.
