Tehran, IRNA - President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Pir-Hossein Kolivand has said that a third humanitarian aid consignment has been sent from the country to Gaza.

Kolivand said on Sunday that the humanitarian cargo onboard a ship had passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.

Iran has already sent two aid cargos to Gaza, including one onboard a plane, he added.

The official said that Iran's recent shipment includes medicine, medical equipment, food items, and biological items such as tents and blankets, and will be delivered to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the Gaza Red Crescent Society.

The IRCS chief said the body has so far supplied 10,000 metric tons of aid to the people in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli war on the enclave.
