Tehran, IRNA – The United States and Britain have launched fresh round of attacks on Yemen, targeting several areas of the Arab country with warplanes and missiles, including the capital Sana’a overnight on Sunday.

Yemen’s Al-Masirah news channel reported that several explosions were heard in Sana'a as American and British warplanes spotted flying in the skies over the city.

According to this report, areas in Hajjah, Dhamar and Bayda provinces were also targeted by aerial raids and missiles.

Warplanes reportedly bombed an area in Hayfan District of Taiz province 11 times.

The CNN news channel, citing American officials, claimed that the US and the UK targeted 10 points in Yemen on 30 occasions on Sunday morning.

There were no immediate report of casualties or damage from the latest aggression against Yemen.

A few hours ago, the Russian news agency Sputnik also reported about the US attacks on areas in the western Yemeni province of Hodeidah province.

More details have not been reported so far. Yemeni media or officials have also not commented on any attack in the port city Hodeidah.

Meanwhile, news sources quoted the British maritime security company Embry on Sunday morning saying that there was the occurrence of a security incident in the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.

Some local media reported the explosion near Yemen’s Mokha port in the south of the Red Sea, but this news has not been confirmed by any official body. Details of the incident have also not been released.

Following a UN Security Council resolution on the Red Sea last month, the United States and Britain began pounding the positions of the Yemeni army and the Ansarullah Movement inside Yemen despite criticism that such attacks are in violation of international laws and the UN charter

The US and the UK, however keep targeting areas inside Yemen in breach of the security council resolution and in order to protect Israeli maritime interests since the Yemeni army has maintain its siege on Israeli-owned or Israeli-bound vessels through the Red and Arabia Seas.

Yemeni officials have already warned the US and the UK that they would face the consequences of their aggression against the Yemeni nation and the support for the Zionist regime.

The Yemeni army says it will continue to target Israeli ships until the Israeli regime stop its attacks on Gaza. It has also pledged to attack American and British vessels in retaliations for their aggression against the country.
