“Today, Iran is an independent country that supports the Resistance,” Sheikh Naim Qassem said at a memorial for Seyyed Razi Mousavi, a veteran advisor of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Syria who was assassinated by the Zionist regime in December last year.
“Iran has extended its hands to cooperate with the countries of the region, just as it has extended its hands to the liberation movements in the region to help them in confronting arrogance and achieving liberation and freedom,” he said.
Sheikh Qassem further said what makes Iran stand out with regard to Palestine and the Resistance is that it helps selflessly and does not demand anything in return.
He continued, “Iran does not interfere in anyone’s affairs. It supports Hezbollah, the Palestinian resistance, and regional resistance and does not demand anything. Iran believes that they deserve to liberate their land and build their future. This is not the case with the great powers and tyrants of the world.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the top Hezbollah leader noted that the resistance has emerged victorious in the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza, adding that Tel Aviv has failed to achieve its goals in the besieged territory thanks to the perseverance of the resistance front.
The Zionist regime waged the war on Gaza on October 7, after Gaza-based resistance fighters carried out a surprise military operation into the occupied territories.
More than 27,000 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza, but the occupying regime has failed to achieve any of its goals.
