Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s embassy in Syria has slammed the Israeli regime's attack on areas in south of the Arab country's capital of Damascus early on Friday that left an Iranian military adviser martyred, noting that Iran will definitely respond to the crime.

In a statement issued late on Friday, the embassy said that the Zionist regime had launched a missile attack on a residential area on the outskirts of Damascus.

It added that the regime had violated international law and Syrian sovereignty by the attack, adding that it had martyred an Iranian military adviser based in the region.

“The measures show the Zionist regime's connection to terrorists," said the statement.
