In a statement late on Tuesday, Hamas said the incursion constituted a “war crime” adding to the long series of massacres and violations the regime has committed since the beginning of its war of genocide against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“We warn of a new massacre committed by the criminal Zionist occupation army after its incursion into the courtyard of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society building and Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, amid intense gunfire at those present in the hospital, including medical staff, wounded, and displaced persons,” the resistance movement said.
“This not only shows contempt for the international community, the United Nations, and international laws, but also for the rulings of the International Court of Justice, which demanded a halt to the genocide being committed in Gaza.”
Hamas further said the move necessitates a firm stand to prevent the “Zionist enemy” from continuing its horrific crimes and atrocities against children and unarmed civilians.
Israeli forces stormed the Al-Amal Hospital on Tuesday, trying to force thousands of displaced people taking refuge there to evacuate.
It came after a unit of undercover Israeli special forces shot dead three young Palestinians inside a hospital in the northern West Bank.
At least 26,751 people, including more than 10,000 children, have been killed in Gaza in the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on the besieged territory since October 7.
