Tehran, IRNA – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will not meet Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency during his upcoming visit to Moscow.

Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov announced on Sunday night that President Putin has no plans to meet with Grossi.

According to Tass news agency, Grossi announced that he plans to visit Zaporizhzhia, Kiev and Russia in the near future and meet with representatives of Russia’s nuclear corporation Rosatom.

"I prepare to return to Zaporizhzhia, within the next ten days or so I will be there, [and] also in Kiev and Russia," the official told reporters.

Later, Grossi told reporters that his plan to visit Moscow is aimed at engaging in "political and technical dialogue."

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, located on the southern bank of the Kakhovka Reservoir on the Dnipro River, is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of output. This area is currently under the control of Russian forces. Russia and Ukraine in recent months blamed each other for shelling the power plant.
