Iraq’s Islamic Resistance has claimed responsibility, saying its fighters launched rocket attacks on “three occupation bases in Iraq and Syria” namely Kharab Al-Jir Base, Erbil Airport Base, and Koniko Base.
“Attacks are in continuation of our path in resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the Zionist regime’s massacres of our people in Gaza”, the Islamic Resistance said in a statement.
Just two days ago, the same US base in the Koniko natural gas field in Syria's Deir ez-Zor province was targeted with missiles and rockets by resistance groups.
According to the Al-Mayadeen TV network, at least 10 rockets were fired at the Kharab al-Jir military base located in the northeastern countryside of al-Hasakah province.
Sabereen News which operates its own media channels on Telegram reported that a column of smoke was seen rising over these 2 American military facilities in Syria.
There were no immediate reports of possible casualties or damage from the latest attacks on these bases.
Since the onset of the Zionist regime's war on Gaza, resistance groups in the region have been targeting Israeli and American facilities in a show of support for the oppressed Palestinians.
Iraq’s Islamic Resistance has targeted US bases in Iraq and Syria more than a hundred times in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.
