SCI figure published on Sunday showed that the cow population in Iran had risen by 119,000 or 2.2% in the nine months to late December compared with the same period last year.
Over the summer, cows gave birth to 349,000 calves in husbandries across Iran, an increase of 22% compared to the number of births in March-December last year, the data showed.
Based on the SCI report, dairy cows produced 2.01 metric tons of milk in Iran over the three months to late December, up 20% from the same period in 2022.
