Tehran, IRNA — Israeli security chiefs have warned prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of possible escalation of tensions in the occupied West Bank amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

Israel's domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet reportedly submitted a document urgently warning prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to act to prevent an imminent flare-up of violence in the occupied West Bank, according to a Saturday report by Israel's Channel 13.

It comes several days after Israel's Channel 12 reported on a similar warnings issued by security chiefs regarding the situation in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli regime has been unable to pay its employees in full for months, including members of its security services, the Shin Bet document warned, adding that this could lead to the troops turning their weapons on each other.

Hundreds of Palestinians have lost their lives in Zionist regime attacks on the occupied West Bank since the start of Israel's brutal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
