Bushehr, IRNA – More than 470 tons of narcotics were seized by Iran in the first nine months of the current calendar year, Iran anti-narcotics police chief, Brigadier General Iraj Kakavand, has said.

Brigadier General Kakavand told media reporters on Friday in Bushehr that seizing the industrial narcotics from Afghanistan shows a 21% increase during the mentioned period (March 21, 2023 to December 21, 2023).

Several drug gangs in Iran also were both identified and dismantled.
