Tehran, IRNA – Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri has said that the Monday Zionist assassination of an IRGC commander in Syria was a strategic mistake.

The Iranian general said on Tuesday that any terrorist and insane measure will not help the Zionists and will rather intensify the resistance siege on them.

Bagheri stressed that the assassination of Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi, which he said was a violation of the Syrian sovereignty and in contrary to international conventions, exposed the terrorist nature of the Tel Aviv regime.

Three months past the Palestinian October 7 Al-Aqsa Operation against the Zionist regime, the Zionist have had no achievement, but brutal attacks on residential areas and hospitals in Gaza, General Bagheri said, adding that they will spare no crime to get out of this self-made quagmire and to divert world public opinion from their crimes.

"Israel committed strategic mistake by killing IRGC commander," he added.
