Tehran, IRNA – An Iranian official has announced that over 1300,000 metric tons (mt) of olive has been harvested from the gardens across the country.

Javad Mirarab Razi, the executive at Iran’s olive plan, predicted that the figure will reach 150,000 mt by the end of the Iranian calendar year on March 19, 2024, IRNA reported from Ministry of Agriculture-Jihad on Wednesday.

The olive harvesting is under the final phase as %80 of its harvest has been made across the country, the official added.

He went on to say that, production of olive has decreased worldwide during the current year.

About Iran’s olive production in 2022, the official said the figure has been 220,000 mt while it was a record.
