Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani referring to the long-standing relations between Iran and Senegal and the potentials in various fields to expand ties, called for the development of relations in all political, economic, and parliamentary fields between the two sides.

Baqeri Kani in the meeting of Senegal's Speaker of the National Assembly, Amadou Mame Diop in Dakar, said that the initiative of holding the periodic Peace and Security Council (PSC) shows Senegal's interest in restoring African identity and consolidating the independence of African countries.

Mame Diop, for his part, thanked Iran's partaking in the meeting of the PSC, adding the two countries have always enjoyed good relations due to their cultural commonality.

He added that his country seeks to develop relations with Iran in agriculture, energy, industries, and mines.

Referring to Senegal's chairmanship of Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Senegal's Speaker of the National Assembly said: Dakar's position on supporting the Palestinian nation is stable.
