Moscow, IRNA – Iranian and Russian businesses in a joint meeting in Moscow have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to transit grain through Iran and Sarakhs Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

According to the agreement signed between the businesses of the two countries, Iran especially Sarakhs Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will become a grain transit hub.

Activating a grain hub in SEZ and the development of the export of Russian grain products to Iran and the countries around Iran were agreed upon in the meeting.

Iranian delegation from Iran's Khorasan Razavi province headed by the Governor General of Khorasan Razavi, Yaghoub Ali Nazari was in the meeting with Russian businessmen.

Sarkhs Special Economic Zone is located 17 kilometers from Sarkhs city, next to the Mashhad-Sarkhas road and adjacent to the railway connecting Turkmenistan and, consequently, Central Asia with Iran.
