Tehran, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian while welcoming the temporary ceasefire in Gaza said that if the Israeli regime continues the war after the ceasefire, the situation in the region will become more tense and the reactions will be more widespread.

Amirabdollahian met and talked with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on Thursday night.

Amirabdollahian thanked the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar for his warm welcome and pointed out that this is the second meeting we have had in the last 6 weeks.

While welcoming the temporary ceasefire in Gaza, the Iranian foreign minister said that if the Israeli regime continues the war after the ceasefire, the situation in the region will become more tense and the reactions will be more widespread.

"The Zionist regime is not able to continue the war without the support of the United States, and what has happened against the United States in the region in the past 6 weeks is the reaction of the resistance groups in the region to the action of the United States in supporting the genocide in Palestine and has nothing to do with Iran," he added.

Amirabdollahian emphasized that Hamas is a freedom-seeking movement that emerged from within the Palestinian nation.

He stressed that Hamas cannot be eliminated and they should not think that they can achieve what they could not achieve during more than a month and a half of war.
