“Israeli forces have demonstrated – yet again – a chilling indifference to the catastrophic toll on civilians of their ongoing relentless bombardment of the occupied Gaza Strip,” the international human rights organization said in a report on Monday.
Amnesty International emphasized that “no place is safe” in Gaza as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded Palestinian territory from air and land.
As part of its ongoing investigation into Israeli violations of the laws of conflicts, the organization said it has recorded two specific attacks where Israeli airstrikes resulted in the death of 46 civilians, including 20 children.
The air raids, which occurred on October 19 and 20, targeted a church where hundreds of displaced civilians had taken refuge and a home in al-Nuseirat refugee camp.
“These attacks must be investigated as war crimes,” Amnesty said.
The Israeli regime has been heavily bombing the Gaza Strip over the past 45 days, killing at least 13,000 Palestinians, including more than 5,500 children.
