TEHRAN, IRNA – Member of Hamas' Political Bureau Osama Hamdan has criticized Reuters for spreading lies and misinformation about the recent meeting between Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement Ismail Haniyeh.

In reaction to releasing misinformation and merely untrue news by Reuters about the meeting between Ayatollah Khamenei and Haniyeh, Hamdan in an exclusive interview with IRNA on Thursday lambasted Reuters for spreading lies instead of real information.

He underlined that everyone knows the nature of the relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamas, as well as its position in support of the Palestinian cause, the Palestinian people, and its resistance.

The meeting between Ayatollah Khamenei and Haniyeh was in line with continued constructive and good ties between Iran and Hamas, he highlighted.

He noted, “It is natural to conclude that the publication of such biased news stems from two main reasons. First, the resistance in Gaza has been successful in pressuring the Zionist regime, and everyone has learned the extent of Zionist crimes and its attacks on defenseless women, children, and civilians. Secondly, it shows the effectiveness of the resistance in the field of targeting the Zionist enemy, army, and war machinery."

Undoubtedly, the influence of the resistance in the region is increasing, and this is a cause of big concern for the Israeli regime and its supporters, he said, noting that as the resistance advances and its role increases, it will create a concern to the Zionist enemy, as a result, they will use all means of spreading false news and fabricated content.
